Biography:
Barometer maker who in 1788 moved from Milan to Delft, where he married Gerritje Eijkhoorn. Caminada made and sold barometers and drafting compasses. He lived and worked, first on the Marktveld and later at the Koornmarkt, in a house called 'De Vliegenkast'. His workshop was continued by his three sons Gerardus Petrus (1796-1833), Jacobus (1798-1832) and Joannes (Jan) Caminada (1803-1876).

Biography:
Maker of meteorological instruments in Amsterdam. Carlo worked in The Netherlands since 1770, first with barometer maker Ludovico Primavesi. In 1771 Bianchi & Primavesi sold some instruments to the Fundatie van Renswoude in The Hague. From 1778 on he no longer worked with Primavesi, but with his brother Saverio. They made barometers, air pumps, Leiden jars, weather glasses and spiral thermometers. They made barometers, air pumps, Leiden jars, weather glasses and spiral thermometers. The latter instrument was invented in Austria in 1776 by Jacob Bianchi, probably their father.

Collection: Museum Boerhaave Leiden (instrument signed 'Bianchy Primavesi / fecit Amsterdam'), Universiteitsmuseum Utrecht, Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers in Paris (thermometer made between 1770 and 1790).

Biography:
Scientific instrument maker born near Lake Como, Italy. On June 27, 1840, he married Geertruida Cornelia Lamareca in Zwolle, after which they settled in Amsterdam. Here he worked as a meteorological instrument maker, making thermometers and barometers. In 1868 his wife and child died duringthe latter's birth. In 1872 Barella remarried and moved to Dordrecht where he also worked as an instrument maker.
