Biography:
Well known humanist, translator of Greek texts. Studied in Louvain. After several functions as teacher and secretary in Spain, Germany and the Southern Netherlands, he became professor of Latin and Greek languages in Leiden (1581). His books and manuscripts were presented and sold to the University Library Leiden.
Involved in the legacy of Carolus Clusius.
Many editions and translations of Latin and Greek texts.
