Scientific instrument maker. Son of Jan Caminada (1803-1876) from Delft. Together with his brother Carel Antonius (1829-1921) he founded a firm in Rotterdam in 1856. Both were disciples of their father. They also were trained abroad, before settling in Rotterdam, where they resided at Noordblaak 1, Hoofdsteeg 28, Kortenaerstraat 36 and Mauritsstraat 119.
The Caminada firm made a variety of scientific instruments: mathematical and nautical instruments, spirit levels, timepieces, telegraphs, compasses, devices to measure water levels etc. The company would be continued by a next generation.

Collections: Teylers Museum Leiden, Nederlands Scheepvaartmuseum Amsterdam.

Leendert Johannes Harri was an instrument maker from Delft who moved to Amsterdam (Oude Teertuinen, later Prins Hendrikkade, near the Schreierstoren), in 1832. He mainly made and sold navigating instruments including sextants, octants, and compasses, and later retailed imported foreign examples. He also sold charts and navigation manuals. His son Leendert Johannes Harri jr entered the business in 1869.

Instrument maker from The Hague. In October 1798, he was appointed by the Fundatie van Renswoude in The Hague to reorganize and improve the Physical Cabinet of the organization. Afterwards, he was granted a permanent position at the Fundatie. Kocks continued to work for the organization until 1829, when the Cabinet was sold to Brussels. Kocks made a fire engine, a microscope, an electrostatic generator and a demonstration model of a mill.

J.B. Schuuring was an orphin raised by the Fundatie van Renswoude in The Hague. In 1784 he was trained as an instrumentmaker by Diller in The Hague. In 1785 he changed his subject and became a surgeon, trained by the surgeons Van Drunes and Damen. He was educated further in Paris and then returned to Amsterdam to become a physician.
