Ruspinus was thermometer and barometer maker working in Amsterdam (originated from Rotterdam), ca 1746-1771. In 1751 he was associated with Paulus Wast, who in 1747, 1748 en 1759 was a witness at the baptism of one of Ruspinus' children. In 1758 Dominus Sala was also witness at such a baptism, as was his colleague Ludovicus Primavesi in 1766.

Collection: Museum Boerhaave Leiden (mercury thermometer), A barometer dated 1759 is in private hands. A thermometer by Ruspinus was auctioned in 1799.

Retailer of nautical instruments, charts and navigating manuals in Amsterdam. Johannes was the last member of the Van Keulen family to own the 'Weduwe G. Hulst van Keulen' firm. He took over the firm in 1810 after the death of his grandmother Anna Calkoen, the widow of Gerard Hulst van Keulen. Johannes sold the firm in 1823, after which it was continued by several owners as the 'Weduwe G. Hulst van Keulen' until 1885, when it was liquidated. The company's inventory was auctioned by G.D. Bom HGz., in Amsterdam, the same year.

He was the father of instrument and compass maker Dirk Hermanus Selter. A trade label is for 'D.B. Selter maakt en repareert alle soort van zeevaartkundige instrumenten. In 1851, after his marriage to Henriette Cornelia Krap, the daughter of The widow Helena Geertruijda Krap-Arbon, Van Duijm joined her business in Rotterdam, retailing nautical instruments, charts and navigation manuals. In 1855, two months after the widow's death, his brother Aart van Duijm married the other daughter Anna Maria Krap, after which date he probably joined the firm, which was continued under the name: 'Weduwe A.H. Krap & Van Duijm'. In 1858, they sold nautical instruments, charts and navigation manuals.

Krap was a retailer of navigating instruments in Rotterdam,since 1818 working with his father-in-law under the name 'Arbon & Krap'. From about 1824 he continued the business under his own name. A marine achromatic telescope bearing his name, has been preserved. After his death in 1832, his widow Helena Geertruijda Arbon continued the business, first with a certain 'Van den Brink', later (from 1851 onwards) with her son-in-law Joost van Duijm, who had married her daughter Henriette Cornelia Krap.
In 1855 his brother Aart van Duijm married the other daughter Anna Maria Krap, after which date he probaably joined the firm, which was called: 'Weduwe A.H. Krap & Van Duijm'.

The firm of Arbon & Krap retailed charts and navigating instruments. Two preserved octants with their name were probably imported. His son Johannes George Arbon (1786-1857) was a navigation teacher in Rotterdam. .

Scientific instrument maker in Delft. Son of the Delft instrument maker Gerard Bernhard Hendrik Filbri (1811- 1883), who mostly worked for the Delft company of P.J. Kipp & Zonen. In 1875 he married Maria Willemina van der Burgh from Delft. In 1880 he continued his father's workshop. At least the Delft Adresboekjes of 1881-1898 mentions 'J.M. Filbri, instrumentmaker' at the the old address: Oosteinde 15. His mother is also mentioned here, as the widow of G.B.H. Filbri.

Maker and retailer of all sorts of meteorological and other scientific instruments. In 1766 he lived in Haarlem, in the 'Kleine Houtstraat', in "de Stad Jerusalem". That year he claimed to have invented a new type of 'controleur'. In 1773 he succeeded his relative Dominus Tessa. His workshop was in Leiden, at the Maarsemansteeg, in the house called 'Milano'.
In 1779 he moved to Rotterdam, where he joined the firm of Reballio, carrying the name "Reballio, Tessa & Comp." Tessa's former apprentice Franciscus Boggia continued the workshop in Leiden.
