Cornelis de Bree de Jonge was a compass maker opposite the Haringpakkerstoren at 'Het Oude Cromhout' in Amsterdam, in 1704. He was the son of Cornelis Jansz. de Bree de Oude, at the same address. After his death, his widow, Celia Bidloo, continued his business as 'Weduwe de Bree'. From 1742-1744 she sold compasses and compass roses to the Amsterdam chamber of the VOC.

Barometer maker who in 1788 moved from Milan to Delft, where he married Gerritje Eijkhoorn. Caminada made and sold barometers and drafting compasses. He lived and worked, first on the Marktveld and later at the Koornmarkt, in a house called 'De Vliegenkast'. His workshop was continued by his three sons Gerardus Petrus (1796-1833), Jacobus (1798-1832) and Joannes (Jan) Caminada (1803-1876).

Albert van der Camp was a compass maker on the Nieuwland in Amsterdam, in 1720, when became poorter (citizen). In 1725 he was at the same address, in 1742 on the Buitenkant. Albert's father was compass maker Pieter Albertsz. van der Camp, a daughter of Albert married compass maker Josua Daelder. In 1733 and 1744 Albert was compass maker to the Amsterdam Admiralty.

Retailer of nautical instruments, charts and navigating manuals in Amsterdam. Johannes was the last member of the Van Keulen family to own the 'Weduwe G. Hulst van Keulen' firm. He took over the firm in 1810 after the death of his grandmother Anna Calkoen, the widow of Gerard Hulst van Keulen. Johannes sold the firm in 1823, after which it was continued by several owners as the 'Weduwe G. Hulst van Keulen' until 1885, when it was liquidated. The company's inventory was auctioned by G.D. Bom HGz., in Amsterdam, the same year.

Dirk Barend Selter was a nautical instrument and compass maker in Amsterdam, from 1850-1899 in the Slijkstraat at the Bantammerstraat, and from 1899 at 's Gravenhekje. He was the father of instrument and compass maker Dirk Hermanus Selter. A trade label is for 'D.B. Selter maakt en repareert alle soort van zeevaartkundige instrumenten. Bantammerstraat no.383 Amsterdam', another is for 'C. Brinkman & D.B. Selter * Maaken en repareren alle soort Zeevaartkundige instrumenten * IJ gracht U nr 21 Amsterdam'.

In 1851, after his marriage to Henriette Cornelia Krap, the daughter of The widow Helena Geertruijda Krap-Arbon, Van Duijm joined her business in Rotterdam, retailing nautical instruments, charts and navigation manuals. In 1855, two months after the widow's death, his brother Aart van Duijm married the other daughter Anna Maria Krap, after which date he probably joined the firm, which was continued under the name: 'Weduwe A.H. Krap & Van Duijm'. In 1858, they sold nautical instruments, charts and navigation manuals.

Krap was a retailer of navigating instruments in Rotterdam,since 1818 working with his father-in-law under the name 'Arbon & Krap'. From about 1824 he continued the business under his own name. A marine achromatic telescope bearing his name, has been preserved. After his death in 1832, his widow Helena Geertruijda Arbon continued the business, first with a certain 'Van den Brink', later (from 1851 onwards) with her son-in-law Joost van Duijm, who had married her daughter Henriette Cornelia Krap.
In 1855 his brother Aart van Duijm married the other daughter Anna Maria Krap, after which date he probaably joined the firm, which was called: 'Weduwe A.H. Krap & Van Duijm'.

Willem Schaap was a compass maker in Amsterdam, in 1775, when he became poorter (citizen), in 1780 his address was in the Houttuinen. After 1805 it was at the Droogbak, which was then also a hardware store. Several compasses by Schaap have been preserved.

Arbon was a retailer of navigating instruments in Rotterdam around 1800. After the marriage of his daughter Helena Geertruijda Arbon with Adrianus Hubertus Krap in 1818, he associated with this son-in-law into the firm 'Arbon & Krap'. The firm of Arbon & Krap retailed charts and navigating instruments. Two preserved octants with their name were probably imported. His son Johannes George Arbon (1786-1857) was a navigation teacher in Rotterdam. .
