Biography:
Together with the French Royal architect Thibault, B.W. Ziesenis worked on the rearrangement of the city of hall of Amsterdam. Lodewijk Napoleon had decided to transform the 17th century city hall into a royal palace. (Today: Paleis of de Dam). With the foundation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1815, Ziesenis was appointed by king Willem I as national architect. He was married to the famous actress Johanna Wattier.
