Dutch reformed minister of the 'Waalse Kerk' (of Hugenot descandance). Although Marron primarily lived in Paris, he kept himself updated on the events in the Dutch Republic. In 1788 he openly expressed outrage about the 'Pruisische Interventie', which caused him to be suspended from his office at the Dutch embassy chapel in Paris. He resigned and accepted a request from the Protestant church in Paris to become their minister. Marron published several sermons, in which he emphasized common sense and virtue.
