Biography:
In 1710 Leonhard joined his father Gerhard in the publishing and globe making business, in Amsterdam. He was admitted to the booksellers guild, in 1711. After his father's death in 1726, Leonard's mother, Maria Bloteling, took over the firm. When she died in 1729, Leonhard succeeded her. In 1741 he moved to a smaller building at Roosegragt, Zuydzyde, hoek Vosse-hofje. After his dead in 1746, his widow Maria Schenk continued the business.
