Born: London, ~1668

Biography:
Christopher Clarke was a British clockmaker. In 1694 he moved to Amsterdam where he resided on the Vijgendam. He married the daughter of the clockmaker Ahasuerus Fromanteel jr. Clarke started a partnership with Fromanteel, but it is not clear whether or not the firm from then on came to be known as Fromanteel & Clarke, or after the death of Fromanteel, when the firm was continued by Clarke. In 1722 Clarke found a new partner in Roger Dunster and the firm was renamed in Clarke & Dunster. Clarke returned to England in 1730, where he died four years later. After Clarke's death Dunster continued the business under his own name.
