Biography:
Publisher and nautical instrument maker in Amsterdam. Son of Joannes van Keulen (2). Later in life he added his mother’s name ‘Buijs’ to his family name. After the death of his father in 1755, he directed the firm ‘In de gekroonde Lootsman’, a publishing and instrument making company, together with his brother Gerard Hulst van Keulen. After Cornelis' death in 1779 the company was split up. The widow Buijs van Keulen took over half of it. The other part remained in the hands of Hulst van Keulen.
