Biography:
In 1590, Hulsius, born in Ghent, has a book-and scientific instrument shop in Nurnberg, Germany, where he made at least one proportional circle. From 1602 on, he made his instruments in The Netherlands and England. He returned to Germany a few years later, and died in Frankfurt in 1606.
