Idsaard Gerbens van den Velde was a scientific instrument maker from Franeker. In 1768 he is mentioned there as a telescope maker. According to Van Swinden, Van den Velde 'made excellent telescopes'. In about 1780 Van den Velde moved to Haarlem as a general scientific instrument maker. At a later date he joined the scientific instrument factory of Jacob Hendrik Onderdewijngaart Canzius in Delft, which existed between 1797 and 1809.

Arcken was a scientific instrument maker in Amsterdam. He made astronomical instruments, chronometers and watches. He exhibited in Amsterdam (1859). Between 1856 and 1888, he delivered several timepieces to the Royal Dutch Navy. He made a meridiometer for which he received an award from two French scientific societies.

Johannes (Jan) van der Bildt jr (1736-ca.1780) made reflecting telescopes. He was the eldest son and apprentice of Jan van der Bildt the elder. In 1755 he matriculated from Franeker University. In 1762 he married Ruyrdtje Eekes Blijsma from Arum. Two years later they moved to Bolsward, but returned to Franeker in 1767. After about 1768 Johannes started to make his own instruments, the highest number known for a telescope made by him is no. 63 (in Museum Boerhaave, Leiden).
